Big Bend has hands down been the most beautiful place I’ve visited in Texas. The scenery is absolutely amazing. We spent a couple nights camping in Chisos Campground, which I highly recommend for anyone who want’s to camp at Big Bend. There is so much to do here, but as always, never enough time to do it all. During our time at Big Bend, we hiked Lost Mine Trail, Balanced Rock, Santa Elena Canyon, and Ernst Tinaja Trail. Lost Mine Trail was my favorite, but it was also the hardest one to conquer. The hike is a 4.8 mile round trip with just a little over 1,000 feet of elevation. The views on top makes it so worth it. Getting to Balanced Rock and Ernst Tinaja are adventures in themselves. A 4x4, high clearance vehicle is required to get to these trails, especially Ernst Tinaja. As a result, not many people hike these trails. In fact, we had Ernst Tinaja Trail all to ourselves. After Big Bend, we headed to Fredericksburg to hike the famous Enchanted Rock. The views were amazing, but if I'm being honest, they did not compare to Big Bend. Regardless, it was a pretty unique experience.
