For years, I dreamed of visiting Banff and Jasper National Park in Canada, home to some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the world. This was easily my favorite and most epic trip I've ever taken. I opted to visit during the fall to witness the vibrant fall foliage, and needless to say, it did not disappoint.

We kicked things off in Banff National Park. Moraine Lake was without a doubt the highlight of the trip and the most beautiful landscape I've ever witnessed. A little slice of heaven on Earth is how I would describe it. It's hard to believe something this beautiful exists. So much so, that I always get a "is that photoshopped" when I show people pictures of Moraine Lake. It really is that surreal. After spending a couple hours taking in the views, we began the hike up to Larch Valley. Bears are pretty active around this time of the year so it's highly recommended to hike in groups of at least 4 people. Luckily I had a few friends along for the 5.5 mile round-trip hike. A challenging endeavor indeed, but well worth the reward that awaits on the other side of the trail.

Lake Louise is another one of those gems that's a must see while in Banff. From here, we began the challenging hike to conquer the Big Beehive trail. This path led us to one very unique feature that I've never seen on any other hikes before - a delightful little tea house. Yes, a tea house in the middle of the mountains. A perfect rest stop to enjoy some warm tea and a peanut butter and jam sandwich while soaking in the magnificent view that Lake Agnes has to offer. We continued the journey to the top, enduring the unforgiving switchbacks during the last mile of the hike. As always, the views at the end were stunning. Lake Louise looked amazing from 7,000ft of elevation.

Another epic experience I had here was an impromptu helicopter tour to see some breathtaking views of the glaciers in the Rocky Mountains. This was my first time ever in a helicopter and it was definitely one for the books.

After exploring Banff for several days, we began the very scenic drive to Jasper on the Icefields Parkway road. I've been on many roads with amazing views, but this didn't compare. Unquestionably, this stood as the most picturesque road I've ever been on, offering stunning panoramas at every turn. We even saw a bear along the way!

Jasper National park has many amazing points of interest including Sunwapta Falls, Athabasca Falls, and Pyramid Lake. Yet, amongst all the amazing landscapes, Spirit Island stole the spotlight for me. Accessible only by ferry, this little journey in itself hosted many mesmerizing views of Maligne Lake and some of the glaciers around the mountains.

2023 has been one of the toughest years of my life. This trip to Canada was a much needed getaway from everything. I found peace and tranquility, something I can rarely say when I'm back home. Tho physically back in Texas, my heart and soul continue to linger the landscapes of Canada. While words could speak volumes about this amazing adventure, I'll let the photos tell the story.
